4 Months Later...

Right.

So it's been a few months since I've posted, and rightly so. For one I don't even consider this "writing" and two it's difficult for me to even think of a few things to say. But, I figured I'd catch "everyone" up on what's goin' on in my life (don't worry, it isn't much).

September- Sucked. I almost became a "Beauty School Drop-Out", but decided to stick with it. I'm glad I did. And my college roommate/best friend came for a visit.

October- I house sat for some neighbors the ENTIRE month, which brought in some much needed cash flow. I was busy almost everyday aside from house sitting. Needless to say, I was worn out by the end of that month.

November- I signed up for extra hours after school, missed 5 days that month when I was only allowed to miss 2 (I worked so many extra hours that I was able to make up for the other 3 days). I went back to being a blonde, I had an easy Thanksgiving, stayed in Uptown Charlotte for 14 hours the day before Thanksgiving so I could get a few extra hours at school, and took a James Ryder make up class with my youngest sister (who got me in VIP standing for the course because she's so pretty). Oh and my other sister GOT MARRIED to the only guy I would ever approve for her. I lucked out on the cool brother-in-law department (even his sister agrees).

December- Which is ALMOST over. My best friend visited me once a month almost the entire year to keep me sane. Including this month. I graduated cosmetology school on December 9th. I stood up on stage and cried my eyes out and told everyone I grew to love and laugh with "goodbye". A few days after I went to Lynchburg, VA to help move my youngest sister out of her dorm room so she can attend the same school I just spent a year at starting in January. I then made my way up to NJ to see my college roommate/best friend with our mutual best friend (like how descriptive I am?) and spent some time in Philly (okay we really just purchased our favorite food and got the heck out of there), and a day in NYC.

I came home, and got on a plane 2 days later to visit my grandparents in Ft. Meyers, Florida. I ate way too much, saw Sherlock Holmes 2 (SO GOOD) and Mission Impossible 4 (action: good; script: cheesy), and came back Christmas Eve. Christmas Day was another easy day to just hang out. My good friend from VA paid me a much needed visit (I've missed her A LOT). I've been doing hair almost everyday since I've been home (I've gotten too bored and have missed it dearly), and am currently facing a "blonde" dilemma with not being able to get the orange out of my hair.

As far as January goes... I've never really celebrated New Years. My parents weren't big on it, and I in turn have never really cared. I count myself blessed to be able to see another new year, just as much as I am blessed to see a new day. However, I will be in Atlanta with thousands of American and International college-aged students learning from some of the most wise and educated Christian speakers, and worshipping our God. The Lord heard my prayer and answered my desire to go to this conference and I am so thankful that He made a way.

And somewhere along the way I hope to get licensed to be a North Carolina cosmetologist. And *fingers crossed*, I'm praying that I get a life-long dream job with a company I would consider myself honored to work for. I just have to stop freaking out about whether or not I'll hear back from them and actually start working on my resume.

Anyways. No New Year Resolutions. But, I have been trying to live in the moment these past few months and attempt to take things one step at a time (which is very difficult for me, but the Lord has been helping me persist). I've also been trying to get myself out of the house at least once a day. I keep picking up some really great books and find myself reading from morning to midnight which has got to stop... for a day or 2. I have found myself living in fear for what seems to be most of my life. I'm tired of it and have decided to let God take control of that area in my life so that I won't "fear anything that is frightening".

Before I end this, I would like to send some thank yous to every single person that I've had a meaningful and encouraging conversation with this year. Even if it was just a conversation filled with nothing more than laughter, you know I appreciate a good laugh. I consider myself very fortunate to have made new friends, re-connected with old friends, and have continued without pause with my consistent friends.

Happy New Years "Y'all"
